Débutantes of 2024.
Since 2013, I have been photographing the Debutante Ball for Vanity Fair France.
Last year, I proposed to the president of the Ball, as a personal project, to create studio portraits of the debutantes in a 1930s Hollywood style. I wanted to produce images that were different from those usually taken by agencies on this occasion.
I brought my equipment to the Shangri-La Hotel, setting up in a room close to where the debutantes were getting ready.
During the three days leading up to the Ball, they came to this improvised studio to have their portraits taken.
